Learn to make LRP-safe shields with two of the most experienced foam and latex prop makers in the world – Seán Maguire of Skian Mhor and Andy Rimmer of Offa Studio, at a fully catered residential workshop at our base in Muirkirk, East Ayrshire.
This workshop is limited to ten participants, to ensure that each of you gets the support and guidance that you need to make your shield the best that it can be. You will make a foam and latex LRP-safe shield of your own design, to keep, under the tutelage of our resident experts, in our workshop, with access to all of the necessary tools, materials, and equipment. We will also give you written materials with notes to help you remember what you’ve learned, to take your new skills out into the world.
Running from Friday 22nd March until Monday 25th March 2019, you will get four intense days of learning and crafting, with time left in the evenings for games (we have many) and socialising. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will run from 9am until 8pm, and Monday from 9am until 5pm.
The price of the workshop includes accommodation at our workshop from Thursday evening until Tuesday morning, all meals included, as well as tea, coffee and squash available on tap, and snacks available too. Meals will be cooked by Mhorish chefs according to your dietary needs, designed to be hearty, filling, and delicious.
Upon booking, you will receive an email enquiring about your dietary requirements and travel arrangements – we can arrange lifts from local train stations or bus stations. We would advise, given our remote location, that you aim to arrive on Thursday 21st March and depart early on Tuesday.
You will need to bring warm clothes that you don’t mind getting grubby, wash kits, and your ideas.
